Model of Salomon's Temple. There are two versions of the temple of Salomon: One with a high porch and one with a short porch. We offer both versions. Why are there two versions of the porch of the temple? The dimensions of Solomon's Temple are at 2 Chronicles chapter 3. The verse 4 specifies all the measurements in cubits units. But it does not specify the unit of the porch height. It just says " The porch in front was 20 cubits long, corresponding to the width of the house, and its height was 120 and he overlaid it inside with pure gold" 2 Chronicle 3:4- Some scholars state that, since all the other measurements are specified in cubits, the height of the front porch should be also in cubits. If that was the case, the height of the front porch should be about 60 meters high (or 120 cubits). That is the reasoning behind the high porch temple.
On the other hand, other scholars think that the 120 might have been a shorter unit (Not the cubit). As a result, the 120 would a smaller height. That is one of the reasoning for the short porch version of Salomon's temple.
